We have had a facebook group for a while now but we have been told by some cool and “in-the-know” people that facebook groups are sooo 2009 so we are launching a fan page.  It will make life a lot easier for us to upload new content and link to our blog posts etc so we will be phasing out the Milkbottle Photography group and replacing it with an all new page called: “Ben and Tim at Milkbottle Photography”.

Just in case you have fogotten what we look like, and because you can’t have a blog post without a picture, here is a picture of the two of us.  Don’t we look lovely!

We were greeted by “dark”.  I don’t just mean it was dark down there, I mean that the darkness was tangible somehow, you almost felt like if you reached out and grabbed you would actually be able to touch it, it was incredible.  Light from our torches was swallowed up somehow by the thick darkness.

Ok I think you get the point, it was pretty dark?!

Shooting in complete darkness has its challenges, the main being you can’t see what you are pointing your camera at until you have taken the photo you see it on the back of your camera.  It was so interesting what we found once we had done our lighting.  We didn’t do a great job of hiding one of the lights in the middle but I thought I would leave it in anyway.

Below is a shot with Tom (a willing assistant on the night).  Excuse the quality of this one, it was just a test shot.  I quite like the grainy quality on this one at times though.

This was an idea that we didn’t quite pull of but we were trying to play around with some reflections in some water that had collected down there.

Here was one of our final shots.  We really like it.  The textures on the brickwork is amazing down there.  We definately plan to go back there and take some more shots.  Maybe when its a bit warmer though.

Its a shame we won’t be able to show you any shots from next weeks shoot as it is mainly children and we would need to fill out all sorts of forms to be able to use the photos on here. We’ll let you know how it goes though. (just without pictures).

Here’s one of the most photographed babies in the world anyway. (one of Bella’s very first words was “cheese!”)

Really not sure what i was thinking with this raised eyebrow look.  I don’t think I’ll be trying it again any time soon!

A last ditch effort of a black and white conversion was all we could think that would make us look half decent.  Ben is still not happy with his!

Ben and I will be posting our general musings and goings-on relating to our wedding photography on here from now on. It will be loosely based around all the weddings we do but will include pretty much anything else we are doing too.  Neither of us are wonderfully gifted writers but we sure can waffle if left to our own devices so we will try and keep things as concise as possible, promise!
