Engagement Shoot: Ian & Louise

I was 13 years old and we had just relocated as a family to the south and that meant a new school.  Our perception of this new school was so posh that Tim and I had even gone out and purchased two matching briefcases because we didn’t want to stand out with our Nike and Umbro bags…turns out we were 2 of 3 people out of the a total 1000+ students to buy a suitcase that year.

It was a daunting moment for me as I was paraded in front of all these kids who spoke really posh (well that’s what we thought we grew up in the midlands where we didn’t talk like the queen) and probably knew all their times-tables backwards, forward and sideways, while me, I still struggles with my 7 times-table. The teacher introduces the new boy, “Ok boys and girls, this is Ben May he’s joining our form this year, lets make him feel welcome”. What was going through my teachers head at that moment was—”right any other ginger kids I can put him with, oh there’s one, Ian Page!”

Ian was my first friend at that school, now he’s marrying the lovely Louise and we have the honour of photographing their wedding. We had a great time with them both as we did their engagement shoot near Codicote. It was a bit of a last minute shoot as they are getting married next weekend!
