Pre wedding Photography :: Iain and Emma: Wimpole Hall

First of all we walked around the absolutely beautiful Longstowe Hall in Cambridge where Ian and Emma are having their wedding reception later this year. Ben and I cannot wait to shoot there. We have never had a wedding there before but we hope this will be the first of many.

After that we went for a little wander around the grounds of Wimpole Hall and even stopped for a very British cup of tea and a sit down. You know its a tough life being a wedding photographer!

Here are some pictures from our wander around Wimpole

Pre wedding Photography :: Rich and Emma

You know what, you learn something new every day.

Don’t tell anyone, because I am pretty sure as a wedding photographer you have to know EVERYTHING about weddings and if you are found to be lacking in the ‘wedding photography knowledge department’ someone will come and take all your cameras away and you have to become an accountant or something. Oh yeah, onto the thing I didn’t know. Apparently the place where people get their marriage certificates registered is in fact not called a registRY office and is in fact a registER office. Who knew hey, not me that’s for sure. Well I know now thanks to Emma so thank you for that, I no longer need to fear the wrath of the wedding photography police and impending career in accountancy.

OK, enough of my waffling, here are some pretty pictures of some beautiful people.

Wedding Photography Almshoe Bury Farm : Tom and Rachel

What a wedding! Tom and Rachel are such a great couple. They have so much fun with each other (see their engagement shoot for proof!) and Rachel’s beaming smile is never far away. The wedding was a real celebration, all the guests just seemed so up for a having a good time and celebrating Tom and Rachel’s relationship. I know this seems obvious but there is the odd wedding where people are really up for it and it makes for such a special day.

Wedding Photography Stoke Rochford Hall – Dan & Sarah

We have waited a while to blog these pictures as we had to wait for Dan and Sarah to have a good look at them first. Here they are anyway.

After a beautiful day with Dan and Sarah on their engagement shoot we knew exactly what to look forward to on the day. We are fairly new to Stoke Rochford Hall but so far it has been great to us. The staff are so helpful and it always feels like you are very much on the ‘same side’ in helping the wedding go off without a hitch. This wedding had it all. I could go through and list it all but i think it is better to just show you the pictures. Dan and Sarah have been a complete pleasure to ‘work’ with over the last few months and I look forward to getting together again soon to catch up.

Wedding Photography Stoke Rochford Hall – Stuart & Hayley

After our engagement shoot with Stuart and Hayley, Ben and I were really looking forward to their wedding. The weather was spectacular. My day started rather slowly which was great. Ben was due to spend the morning with Hayley whilst I was with Stuart. We are often asked who we prefer to go with in the morning and we often struggle to answer. There are positives to both. On this day however i was due to meet Stuart about two hours after Ben was due to meet Hayley, so I had two hours to kill before starting. Stoke Rochford is a great place to kill time. So I called Katy my girlfriend and she came to meet me and we sat in the beautiful gardens and wandered around to the sound of bird singing. It was great. By the time I was due to start shooting I couldn’t have been more chilled. A great way to start the day.

So to the wedding! Like I said before I was with Stuart during his preparations and the atmosphere in his hotel room was really special. It was a kind of nervous excitement that was further emphasised when the sound of the piper began to wash over the grounds of  Stoke Rochford. I love being around at those part of the day, it is part of the privilege that we have being wedding photographers. I could waffle on even more talking about this wedding but I will leave it to our photos to explain the rest.

Wedding Photography Woburn Sculpture Gallery – Ian and Claire

We have only been to  Woburn Sculpture Gallery a few times now but after just a couple of visits to this beautiful place we have pretty much fallen in love with it. It is just an incredible place. During the wedding breakfast for this wedding (where we tend to put our cameras down and have a break) we got to sit outside in the grounds and it is just such a peaceful place as we lay there on the grass watching the sun go down over Woburn Abbey.

Ben and I love being a part of peoples weddings, particularly when we are privy to information that the bride or groom knows nothing about. Being a part of surprises is fun! We tend to be let into the secret so that we make sure we are around for the moment, whatever it may be. This ‘moment’ was a cracker. Claire had organised for KIT from Knight Rider to pick Ian up in the morning. I think Claire was as excited at the thought of it as Ian was at the sight of it. It was a great little present for Ian. I was with Claire in the morning so Ben got to capture the moment. The first i saw/heard this car was in the midst of the silence and peacefulness of the Sculpture gallery I heard the sound of a revving V8 muscle car and Ian’s beaming smile as he blipped the throttle “just one more time”.

Ian and Claire did a great job on their engagement shoot and they just got even better on their wedding day. Ian mentioned that he was much more chilled out about the photos second time around and was so much more himself and relaxed. We love engagement shoots.

Anyway, to the photos. Enjoy. For more from Ian and Claire’s wedding have a look at their SLIDESHOW

Pre-wedding Photography Barkshire | Andy & Odele

We all sat and chatted through the details of Andy and Odele’s wedding in the streaming sunshine in a pub garden in Berkshire supping a ice cold drink. Ben and I simultaneously thinking “this is the life”, great people, great weather, good times.

Andy and Odele are going to have a massive village fete themed wedding. It is going to be a blast. They both work in childrens work and so have invited all the children they work with to come to their special day. Both Andy and Odele have hearts of gold, they are perfect for each other.

We went for a little wander around a local forest where Andy and Odele go for walks sometimes. It was a lovely setting, the sun was low and piercing through the trees. There was however the very unwelcome presence of ants. I don’t mean just a few ants here and there, I mean ANTS, everywhere! Andy and Odele were troopers though with Andy kind of…just ignoring it really, and Odele hopping from one foot to another to avoid giving the pesky little critters a chance to crawl up her legs.

Here are some images from our day together. For more images have a look at their SLIDESHOW

Pre wedding photography – Tom and Rachel Almshoebury Farm

I am loving the sun right now. As a photographer the sun can work against you sometimes almost as much as for you. This time of year is just perfect though. One of my favorite things it to have a shoot late in the afternoon when the sun is low and beautifully warm and soft. Its great. Our shoot with Tom and Rachel was no exception. After sitting down with a cup of tea and chatting through some of the details for their wedding next month we began the shoot. We started at Almshoebury farm in St Ippolyts. This is where they are going to be having their reception and it is fantastic. The place is owned by Rachel’s family so we got to basically go wherever we wanted to go. This place is fantastic, it is a working farm but doubles up as the HQ of the family wedding catering and events company. This was actually how we got in contact with Tom and Rachel initially as I am using them for my wedding later this year. Anyway, enough about me.

Back to the shoot, oh yes Almshoebry farm. This place is a dream for Ben and me, it has got machinery and cars and alsorts of random stuff all over the place. There was a bright pink threshing machine from way back when, which I could have photographed all day, it was fascinating.

Just looking through the photos again, as I have just done, it reminded me how great Tom and Rachel were. They just had to look at each other and their faces lit up, they seem so in love and their smiles were infectious. Looking forward to more of the same at the wedding.
