Wedding: Stuart & Hayley – Stoke Rochford Hall Jaguar Mark 2
May
03
Can’t wait to blog this wedding from Stoke Rochford Hall. I will wait for now though as Stuart and Hayley haven’t seen their images. I thought i would devote a whole blog post to their car though. We tend not to include too many pictures of cars and things like that in blog posts but this car was just too beautiful. It was a 1962 Jaguar Mark 2 and we just loved every bit of this machine,
The rest of the wedding will follow in a few days.
Enjoy
Wedding: Jake and Fi – The Rickety Barn at Bassmead Manor
Apr

We had Jake and Fi’s wedding a week or so ago at The Rickety Barn at Bassmead Manor. I arrived in the the morning at Fi’s place to capture some of the preparations and it was such a lovely start to the day. Fi was just so happy. I know that doesn’t sound particularly noteworthy, brides are always happy. But Fi just took it to a new level, the first i saw of her she was skipping into the house after getting her hair done. She was all kinds of excited! This is my kind of wedding. Her family were brilliant too, they had such a calming influence on the day, nothing was too much trouble. Truly wonderful.
The rest of the day carried on in the same vain. The church was crammed full to the rafter with friends and family. Standing room only for the back three rows. The Rickety Barn at Bassmead Manor was a lovely place to have a wedding. The weather meant that we could all be outside on the lawn for canapes and drinks. There was a real feeling of fun at this wedding, everyone was just in a good mood it was great. I’m sure the weather helped out a bit, plus everyone loves canapes on the lawn.
Right, to the photos.

Pre wedding shoot: Stuart & Hayley Stoke Rotchford Hall
Apr

The eagle-eyed amongst you will remember that we were at Stoke Rotchford Hall only a couple of weeks ago with Dan and Sarah for their pre wedding shoot and general “scout out” of the location. Well yes we were there again the other day. We are fast becoming fans of what is a new venue for us. It has got some great little spots to use on a shoot and some great places to go if it rains too!
It is amazing how different a place can feel on a different day. With Dan and Sarah we were there in the middle of the day, this time we are around for that beautiful part of the day just before sun set. A real peaceful time of the day for me and we had a great time getting to know Stuart and Hayley ahead of their wedding next month.
Enough of me rabbiting on. Here are some photos. For more of Stuart and Hayley’s pre wedding shoot why not have a look a their SLIDESHOW
Pre wedding shoot: Ian and Claire – Woburn Sculpture Gallery
Mar

Ian and Claire are getting married at Woburn Sculpture Gallery next month so we had a little scout out with them the other day and did their pre wedding shoot at the same time. We first spoke to Ian and Claire way back in 2009 we think and they booked us. At the time it was the most prepared bride and groom we had ever worked with! By the sounds of it from talking to the two of them, things have continued in a similar vain and they are pretty well prepared for their wedding next month. Woburn Sulpture Gallery is a great place to have a wedding. So many locations to shoot and all of them are beautiful.
Here are some shots from the day.

Engagement shoot: Dan and Sarah – Stoke Rochford Hall

Dan is an old friend of mine and I am honoured that he and Sarah chose us to shoot their wedding. I haven’t seen Dan much over the last few years as he is in the RAF these days and gets posted all over the country, so it was great to catch up again over a cup of tea. Watch out for an air force themed wedding in the next few weeks.
Sarah and Dan are having their reception at Stoke Rotchford Hall which is a place we had never been to before. Oddly enough we have got another wedding their the week after. Stoke Rotchford is a beautiful venue, so nice and light indoors and has beautiful grounds you could just wander around all day (and that is pretty much what we did). Ben and I can’t wait to shoot their wedding, we had a great time getting to know Sarah a little better and getting to know them as a couple. They are great together and it comes across in the photos from the day. There is something peaceful about their relationship which really appeals to me.
As is often the case Dan and Sarah were slightly nervous about the thought of their wedding photos and in particular the wedding shoot itself but having had a pre wedding shoot with them it seems their nerves are but a distant memory. Ben and I love pre wedding shoots. We would never go back to not doing them. Here is an excerpt from an email Dan sent to me just after our day at Stoke Rotchford.
“Just a note to say Sarah and I really enjoyed the pre-wedding shoot last week. Neither of us are massively comfortable in front of the lens, but you and Ben instantly put us at ease. Really looking forward to the day now – not that I wasn’t before you know, but it always helps to square away the important bits.”
Anyway, enough of me rambling, here are some photos. For more photos why not have a look at their SLIDESHOW

Engagement: Jake and Fiona
Feb

Jake and Fi were absolute stars for their engagement shoot, it was such a windy day and they managed to brave the elements with us and pull off some great photos. Thanks guys. We thought we would go for a nice rustic look to some of these shots. Their venue is right next to a working farm which is just full of amazing textures and colours. I’m just wondering how we can use the tractors on their wedding day (only joking Fi, I wont get you clambering on any farm yard machinery in your beautiful dress. Jake, you might not be so lucky though?!)
Anyway, here are a few from their shoot. For more images, why not have a look at the SLIDESHOW.
Wedding: Ian and Louise
Feb

Ian and Louise had their wedding and reception at the Node in Codicote. I was a little bit on edge leading up to the set shots and group shots as I was acutely aware of the rapidly diminishing levels of light. We did our group shots in record timing to give us time with Ian and Louise around the grounds. We did their engagement shoot at the Node too so we knew where we were going which meant we managed to get in pretty much all of what we wanted to do before the light eventually gave way. Louise got ready actually at the Node and her room was lovely, so light and spacious. There were themed bathrooms all over the place so I thought I would take Louise’s shoes for a walk (don’t worry i didn’t try and put them on) and they had their own little photo shoot.
For more images have a look at Ian and Louise’s SLIDESHOW.
Yes, that is the A-Team van! Lousie surprise Ian with it in the morning. I think the boys enjoyed it!?
Wedding: Josh and Hannah
Feb

Here are some photos from Josh and Hannah’s wedding before Christmas. These are slightly delayed as we were waiting for Josh and Hannah to show their parents before we shared them with the world! That is done now so enjoy. We had a great day with them on their engagement shoot and we were really looking forward to their wedding. Josh and Hannah were a complete pleasure to work with, they started off their pre-wedding shoot by saying they were a little bit nervous but by the time they had finished that and were on to their wedding photos they were complete pros. They were so comfortable in front of the camera. Hannah is such a lovely girl but that didn’t stop her busting out some pretty fierce poses. They were both great.
I was so looking forward to editing this wedding and it didn’t let me down. I had my music on loud and had a smile on my face pretty much the whole time. My job is the best!
We were anticipating a cold cold day but it turned out to be perfect. We took there wedding photos at the same place as our previous shoot with them and it worked great. This time we had the addition of a cool little car called a Wolseley, the car had its own little story and it was great to have it as a part of their wedding.
At their reception some very good friends of theirs had put together a Mumford and Son’s tribute band. Now I have to say, I thought these guys would be good, but they were amazing! When I got home that night I put the CD on just to see how close they were to the real thing. They were so good that I actually feel like I have seen Mumford and Sons live now! Brilliant. I hope to see those guys again soon. I might have to resort to booking them myself.
